There will be 316 new buses added to Dubai’s fleet as part of a new scheme by the Roads and Transport Authority. The buses will transport passengers between the city and the surrounding areas such as Abu Dhabi. The project will cost Dh465 million and include 143 deluxe intercity coaches, 79 double-deckers, and 94 medium-sized urban buses. The procurement of the new buses forms part of the process to upgrade mass transit systems in Dubai and align them with best global practices.” It is part of a push to improve transport networks across the country, said Mattar Al Tayer, chairman of the Board of Executive Directors and director-general of RTA.
